Outpatient costs
Melville Clinic is a private clinic and there will be out of pocket expenses after the Medicare refund. We will inform you of the fee at the time of booking the appointment. All accounts are payable on the appointment day. We accept Visa, Mastercard and Amex.
Medicare allows for reimbursement of part of your outpatient appointment cost. On presentation of your Medicare card, we can complete the Medicare claim for you. Note that outpatient appointments are not covered by the Private Health Funds.
The Medicare Safety Net Scheme ensures that once a threshold is reached, the total out of pocket costs are limited. We encourage you to register for this.
Non-attend fees
We charge a non-attend fee if you do not cancel your appointment 48 hours in advance. This fee will be 50% of the expected fee on the day and is not claimable from Medicare.
Hospital inpatient and day program services
Please ensure you provide Medicare and Private Health Fund numbers. It is important for you to find out from your Health Fund if you are eligible for these additional services. Fees and charges will be provided in writing for any proposed hospital inpatient or day program services, and a signed patient consent will be requested in advance.
